I think that Debbie and I have developed a new sport! It's the act of visiting yarn stores wherever we go, shopping, and then petting our beautiful new yarn that may or may not have a purpose planned for it!
The first picture shows my choices to take home with me. And most of this does have a project in mind.
We visited Stash-A Place For Yarn, Fiber Art Gallery and A Good Yarn. We did manage to find something to buy at each store, but our favorite was A Good Yarn in Sarasota. On my personal rating system, the highest rating is "I would go out of my way to return". That's what A Good Yarn earned! After that, the rating system ends!
The photo above shows the results of Debbie's shopping. As you can see, she is a much better shopper than I am! Both of us mostly buy by color, whatever is pleasing. It's always fun to see what we find! I think we need to schedule some knitting dates in the near future!
Here is the knitting that has been done so far-- I had started the Shift back at home, and continued with it on vacation. The shape might look odd, and I agree it looks odd! But it does end up with a seam in the center back of the cowl scarf, and a downwards point in the front, like a cowboy bandana. The pink yarn on the right is Debbie's, with the start of a baby hat. A very soft and sweet color.
Now, if you ever feel like you want to go yarning with someone, give us notice so we can help!
Thank you for stopping by! I appreciate the time you have taken to look for and read my story. I hope you find something that you like!
