If you are wondering what's going on here on my blog page, I am writing journal entries about our trip this fall.  I'm keeping notes on what we do daily, then when I have time and cell service strong enough to upload, I am putting up a day or 2 or 3 at a time.  Bob and I have been keeping travel journals just for ourselves, but I thought it might be fun to try this way.  So the writing style and content will be a little different.  Just warning you not to expect anything that is truly prepared and edited for the public!  You are free to disregard these travel journal entries if they don't interest you!

We had a lazy morning, (that seems to be habit forming!), sipping coffee and catching up with news, etc. Dan and Loti had their own things going on, so we spent the day taking care of our own business.  I cleaned the front seat of the pickup thoroughly, much needed for comfortable travel.  After vacuuming and wiping off everything, I used a product called 303 to put a nice shine on the whole dashboard and door panels.  Makes riding for hours so much more enjoyable for me even if Bob has an easy time ignoring the dirt!  He worked on adding air to tires, checking the TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) and checking the lug nuts.  The tpms is a bluetooth connection between sensors he places on the tire stems to a little screen on the dashboard.  It detects pressure and temperature, and  will alarm if something is wrong.

We had some burritos for lunch to finish up the taco meat we had from home, One of those things I try to plan and make at home to keep in the freezer or fridge until a good time to use them.  some of the things that work well for us are beef stew, grilled and seasoned chicken breasts, either whole or cut up, and chicken pot pies in individual servings. And tater tot hotdish, too!

we wanted to get out for a hike in this beautiful location. We decided to go somewhere nearby so we drove just north of columbia falls.  the trail was Cedar Flats Loop, 3.9 miles, not tough and a good starter for us.  Hardly anyone else out there and it was a sunny afternoon.  I picked a little bouquet of dried flowers and leaves.

After driving back into town, I Dropped Bob off to watch the Vikings at the Gunsight Saloon while I took some time for a shower and relaxing.  Bob made grilled hamburgers for supper.

DAN HAD an interesting day!  He took A FLIGHT AT 6AM WITH 2 friends, DYLAN AND MATTHEW, TO MINNEAPOLIS, SORT OF A BACHELOR PARTY GETAWAY.  THEY WENT TO A TWINS’ GAME FOR A FEW INNINGS, THEN THE VIKINGS GAME against the seattle seahawks (WE WON).  THEY’RE STAYING OVERNIGHT AT AN AIR BNB AND FLYING BACK TOMORROW MORNING. That's Dan on the left!
